Fast Funnel Disposable Funnels
As an equipment owner, maintenance manager or mechanic, you do everything you can to avoid dirt and contamination entering your equipment. You clean parts scrupulously, you are careful with assembly and filter changes, and insure that you have clean lubricant for post assembly fills, top offs or service oil changes. If you use a reusable plastic, metal or gooseneck funnel, all of your attention to cleanliness is for naught. Any shop funnel, if examined by the simple method of wiping a clean white shop towel in the funnel, will illustrate this problem. Typically, shop funnels contain:
- Airborne Dirt
- Shop Debris, including Grinding Abrasives such as Silicon Carbide
- Unwanted Lubricants (eg: gear lube or ATF when engine oil is being dispensed)
- Non Lubricant contaminants, such as antifreeze, brake clean or paint thinner
All of the contaminants listed will be washed into your engine, gearbox, transmission, differential, etc. The end result is accelerated component wear, reduced lubricant service life, decreased oil filter service life and erroneous oil analysis results. No matter how sophisticated your maintenance program is, all of it can be destroyed by a dirty shop funnel.
